Author Description

writer of flash fiction, short stories and novels, and mother of four from Bray, Co. Wicklow. I’ve worked as a technical writer and have degrees in Psychology and Communication Studies. My short fiction has appeared in the Sunday Tribune, Crannóg, The View from Here, Metazen and in many anthologies including the Higgs Boson, Voices of Angels, and UK National Flash Fiction Day’s Jawbreakers. I’ve been shortlisted for Hennessy New Irish Writing and for the Bridport, WOW, and Fish Award. This year I won the Big Book of Hope Ebook fiction category with my flash fiction medley Flashes of Entropy and Hope and was awarded a writing residency in Cill Rialaig, Co. Kerry to work on The Exhibit of Held Breaths.<br /><br />I write fiction on the literary side, with a surreal edge and I always want to do new things. I have just finished writing.The Book of Remembered Possibilities, where a woman destroys her own life by writing the story of her alternate self. The Exhibit of Held Breaths explores the power of belief itself when a enthralling exhibit upturns the life of it’s curator and the townspeople.<br /><br />Next, interrelated flash fiction tales (a collection or novella) of strange, slightly crazy and ordinary people and UFOs in (working title) Unidentified Flashes of Light. And the book after that (top secret title) is about electricity, Voltaire, Galvani, lost girls, Edgar Allen Poe, Japanese graphic novels, social media and lots more.
